Aktuellen Studien zufolge sind deutsche Automobilzulieferer nur unzureichend für den Strukturwandel hin zur Elektromobilität gerüstet. Mit zu geringen Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung riskieren viele ihre Zukunftsfähigkeit. Stephan Bille, Partner Automotive bei Unity, sieht das im Mai von der Bundesregierung verabschiedete Förderprogramm Elektromobilität daher auch als Chance für die Zulieferindustrie. Für den Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung wird eine Milliarde Euro bereitgestellt. Eine für die Koordinierung sämtlicher Forschungsaktivitäten eingerichtete Lotsenstelle soll dabei insbesondere Mittelständler bei der Suche nach geeigneten Förderprogrammen unterstützen.
