Die im Jahr 2004 einberufene Kommission Bodenschutz des Umweltbundesamtes (KBU) präsentiert sich ab sofort mit einer eigenen Website im Internet. Die KBU bietet dem Umweltbundesamt sachverständige Beratung bei konkreten fachlichen Fragen des Bodenschutzes. Neben den klassischen Disziplinen der Geo- und Agrarwissenschaften gehören der KBU auch Fachleute für Nachhaltige Entwicklung, Ökonomie, Ökotoxikologie und Altlastensanierung an. Obwohl die Arbeit der Kommission selbst nicht öffentlich ist, sind ab sofort allgemeine Informationen über Themenschwerpunkte der Arbeit sowie die Mitglieder der Kommission und Veranstaltungen zugänglich unter:
