u-blox demonstrates navigation using Chinese BeiDou satellite system

u-blox GNSS platform locks onto position using live BeiDou satellite signals

Swiss-based u‑blox (SIX:UBXN), a leading provider of GPS/GNSS and wireless semiconductors, has achieved successful satellite positioning using China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. The technical achievement establishes u-blox as the first GNSS ("Global Navigation Satellite System") component vendor to demonstrate compatibility with all globally deployed positioning systems: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and now BeiDou. Customer demonstration of the technology will begin during Q1 2013.
