(Essen) In medizinischen Forschungsnetzen werden über das Internet regelmäßig hochsensible Patientendaten erfasst, daher ist eine möglichst lückenlose Systemabsicherung eine wichtige Grundvoraussetzung. Das u.a. beim Kompetenznetz Parkinson eingesetzte Sicherheitssystem der interActive Systems GmbH wurde als erstes ausschließlich aus Open-Source-Komponenten bestehende Sicherheitssystem mit dem Zertifikat "TÜViT Trusted Site" ausgezeichnet. Nach einer eingehenden Prüfung hat die TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH, Essen (TÜViT) das IT-Sicherheitssystem der medizinischen Kollaborationsplattform als sicher eingestuft und das renommierte Sicherheitszertifikat erstmals an ein Gesundheitsforschungsnetz verliehen.

Aus Gründen der Systemstabilität und -sicherheit wurde das Sicherheitssystem bei iAS komplett aus Open-Source-Komponenten auf Basis des freien Betriebssystems Linux aufgebaut. Zudem konnte man so
