New standard labels indicate premium-service shipments / Innovative idea spares the environment several millions of labels every year
Background: in order to make it possible for the transoflex employees to immediately spot premiumservice shipments and handle them correspondingly, the parcels used to carry additional labels indicating the specific service. These labels, however, had to be applied by the customers themselves. "This made it quite difficult to ensure an automated handling of premiumservice shipments, especially for large customers", continues Weber. "Employees working in a large dispatch department often have the problem of not being able to know which parcels belong to a premiumservice shipment, thus requiring a special label". From now on, customers can benefit from a series of pictograms that have been developed to indicate the specific premium service selected and that have been integrated in the newly designed address labels. Thus, it is no longer necessary to apply an additional label. Using the new labels does not have any impact on the reliability of the handling processes because the premiumservice shipments are saved in the transoflex data stream and, thus, remain visible on the screen of the deliverer's computer.
