40 years: trans-o-flex celebrates its anniversary at logistic conference

Raffle in the Combi-Freight Lounge: iPads and fuel vouchers to be won -Visitor service: free transport of conference documents

(PresseBox) (Weinheim, ) The trans-o-flex Logistics Group celebrates its 40th company anniversary. On 30th October 1971, trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst, the nucleus of the Logistics Group with a focus on services in the areas of transportation, logistics and temperature-controlled distribution of pharmaceuticals, collected the first shipments. To mark this anniversary, visitors of trans-o-flex's Combi-freight Lounge at the German Logistics Association's (BVL) International Supply Chain Conference, which takes place next week in Berlin, can win four iPads as well as 40 fuel vouchers to the value of € 40 each.

"All visitors and interested guests coming to our lounge at the BVL Conference are given the opportunity to test their knowledge of trans-o-flex and answer the three questions of our raffle", says Kai Schmuck, Director Sales & Marketing. The Combi-Freight Lounge, named after the company's special ability of combining the transportation of parcels and pallets within one system, has a long tradition in the conference's history and can be visited on all three conference days from 19th until 21st October in the InterContinental Hotel. In addition to this, trans-o-flex also offers all visitors of the conference, which is considered the highlight in the logistics industry's calendar, to leave their conference documents at a special counter in the lobby of the conference area and have them delivered to their offices free of charge.

"The delivery of the conference documents is only a very small part of our service range, which has been developed by the trans-o-flex Group over the last 40 years", explains Schmuck. "However, it is a good opportunity to get an idea of our delivery services, which are still the flagship of our Group's activities. Starting its operations with a focus on offering tailor-made delivery solutions for specific industries, such as the pharmaceutical and cosmetic as well as the home entertainment and consumer goods sectors, the company has now established a European network for the transportation of combi-freight shipments.

In a second step, trans-o-flex Logistik Service, with a total of five warehouse locations, was founded in order to offer tailor-made additional services in the area of storage, picking & packing as well as E-commerce. As the Group's youngest subsidiary, trans-o-flex ThermoMed takes over actively temperature-controlled transportation services in the temperature ranges of between 2 and 8 °C as well as 15 and 25 °C. In addition to Germany, these services are also offered in Austria, the Benelux countries and France. "trans-o-flex has always grown with its customers and adjusted its services for the customers specifically to their needs and requirements", adds Schmuck. "And this will also be the key to our success in the next 40 years."

trans-o-flex Express GmbH

The success of the Europe-wide operating trans-o-flex Logistic Group is based on three pillars: 1. trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst offers a full-coverage network for the efficient and safe transportation of parcels and pallets (combi-freight) all over Germany. This also includes numerous additional services, such as the transportation of hazardous goods without being limited to small quantities. At the same time trans-o-flex, in its capacity as shareholder and partner of the Eurodis network, provides full-coverage combi-freight services in 34 European countries. The company has developed a large number of tailor-made solutions for specific sectors, e.g. for the pharmaceutical and home entertainment / consumer goods industries. 2. With a special network for active temperature control in the temperature ranges of between 2 and 8 °C as well as 15 and 25 °C, trans-o-flex ThermoMed takes over the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods for the pharmaceutical industry in Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries. 3. Additional logistic services from storage and picking/packing to value-added services, such as the set-up service for sales displays or electrical appliances, up to customer-specific transport networks are developed and implemented under the umbrella of trans-o-flex Logistik Service. In 2010, annual sales of the Group, which has a workforce of approximately 1,600 employees, amounted to ca. € 524 million. Since June 2008, trans-o-flex has been a 100-% subsidiary of Österreichische Post. For more information, go to
