Ein BMW X5 für die Forschung: Mehr Sicherheit mit dem „FlexRay“-Datenbus

Nicht zuletzt die intelligente Fahrzeugelektronik ist einer der Gründe dafür, dass die Fachpresse mit viel Lob auf die Kombination aus Luxus-Limousine, Lifestyle-Offroader und Fahrmaschine im neuen BMW X5 reagierte. Damit diese Technik in Zukunft noch besser funktioniert, stellt der Münchener Autobauer dem Arbeitsgebiet Bordsysteme der Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik der TU Dortmund ein Fahrzeug für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung, das heute, am 14. März, durch Gotthold Heim, Geschäftsführer der Dortmunder BMW-Niederlassung, übergeben wurde. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Frei will den Wagen für Untersuchungen an Kfz-Elektroniksystemen einsetzen. Besonders interessant ist ein spezielles Datennetzwerk, das einige sicherheitsrelevante elektronische Systemkomponenten des Fahrzeugs miteinander verbindet,
