Der Motor, der Encoder und die Steuerungstechnik wurden so entwickelt, dass Motor, Treiber und Controller eine abgeschirmte Einheit bilden. Die Grundidee bei diesen Motoren besteht darin, die Installationskosten zu minimieren und gleichzeitig eine bessere Störspannungsfestigkeit zu erzielen. Durch einsteckbare Erweiterungsmodule kann der Motor an die jeweiligen Anwendungen angepasst werden. Wählbar sind die Anschlusstypen Sub-D, Kabelverschraubung oder M12 Verbindung. Die Kommunikation kann über Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Sercos, Modbus oder Powerlink erfolgen. Für stand-alone Lösungen besteht auch die Möglichkeit, eine Nano-SPS in den Motor zu integrieren. Weitere Möglichkeiten bieten Highspeed RS485-, Wireless-LAN und Bluetooth- Module.
