Sun Microssystems kündigt das neue Sun Storage 6180 Array an. Das Storage 6180 Array ist Nachfolger des 6140 Array und Teil der Midrange Familie, die von Storage 6180 bis 6780 Array reicht. Das neue Storage 6180 Array ist um 50 Prozent leistungsfähiger als sein Vorgänger und bietet ein um 70 Prozent besseres Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis als etwa eine IBM DS5020. Für das nötige Tempo im Datentransfer sorgen jetzt 8-GBit Fibre Channel Anschlüsse.

Das System unterstützt Solaris, Windows, Linux, IBM-AIX, HP-UX und VMware.
