Die neuen industriellen Gigabit Ethernet Switches IGPS-1080A und IGPS-1080-24V verfügen über acht 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Ports mit PoE (Power over Ethernet ). Jeder PoE-Port unterstützt 30 W Ausgangsleistung gemäß IEEE-802.3at. Die Switches eignen sich somit ausgezeichnet für den Einsatz in der Videoüberwachung. Bis zu sieben IP-Kameras und ein Uplink können an die Switches angeschlossen und über die Ethernet Datenleitung mit Strom versorgt werden. Auch in der Messdatenerfassung mit Ethernet-E/A-Modulen leistet die IGPS-1080-Serie sehr gute Dienste. Verschiedene Hersteller bieten zahlreiche Module mit digitalen und analogen Ein-/ Ausgängen an, die als Powered Device (P.D.) die Stromversorgung über die Datenleitung nach der PoE-Norm
