Die SOLON AG übernimmt einen Anteil von 19 Prozent an dem amerikanischen Unternehmen Global Solar Energy Incorporated. Das Unternehmen mit Sitz in Tucson, Arizona, ist Hersteller von Dünnschicht-Solarzellen nach dem Copper-Indium-Gallium-diSelenide-Verfahren (CIGS) und Systemintegrator von Photovoltaikanlagen. Der Kaufpreis für den Anteil beträgt rund 3 Mio. US$. Verkäufer ist eine Tochtergesellschaft von UniSource Energy Corporation (NYSE: UNS), Phoenix, Arizona. Die übrigen 81 Prozent werden von einem europäischen VC-Investor erworben.

SOLON wird einerseits das bestehende Distributionsnetz von Global Solar für den Vertrieb von SOLON-Standardmodulen und SOLON-Movern im Südwesten der USA nutzen.
