SOLON posts strong domestic and export growth

SOLON AG für Solartechnik (ISIN DE0007471195) continued its strong growth in the second quarter of 2006 without interruption. Group revenue rose in the first half of 2006 to EUR 141.8 million, reflecting a 92% increase from the year before. Income of the SOLON Group improved as follows in the period under review: EBIT increased to EUR 9.4 million (first half of 2005: EUR 3.3 million), EBITDA to EUR 11.8 million (first half of 2005: EUR 4.6 million) and net income after minority interests to EUR 5.5 million (first half of 2005: EUR 2.1 million). The export share of total revenue was increased to more than 35 percent. The development of the project business in Spain made a particular contribution where SOLON is currently installing a number of solar power stations with SOLON Movers. The company has also received a growing number of international inquiries regarding standard modules. The production output of the solar modules produced by SOLON in the first half of 2006 was 38 megawatts. This reflects a 90 percent increase compared to the first half of 2005. For 2006 as a whole, the company expects to increase Group revenue by more than 75 percent with a corresponding improvement in income.
