Die smartGAS Mikrosensorik GmbH bringt jetzt eine neue Generation Gassensoren auf den Markt, die mit sehr niedrigen Detektionsgrenzen und hoher Linearität neue Maßstäbe im Bereich der Gassensorik setzt. Als eines der ersten Modelle wird zur Sensor+Test 2013 der neue silarex fruit verfügbar sein, mit dem sich Ethylen im Konzentrationsbereich von 0 bis 2.000 ppm nachweisen lässt. Das Pflanzenhormon Ethylen spielt eine wichtige Rolle beim Reifeprozess verschiedener Früchte, wie Äpfel, Bananen oder Tomaten. Anwendungen für die Sensoren finden sich in der Frucht- und Gemüselogistik bzw. -lagerung. Beispielsweise werden grün geerntete und importierte Bananen nach dem Entladen in speziellen Bananenreifeanlagen mit Ethylen
