Das "Surfen" im Web gehört mittlerweile zu den wichtigen Hilfsmitteln im beruflichen Alltag bei Unternehmen und Behörden. Aus den anfangs einfachen Browsern sind heute mächtige und komplexe Softwareanwendungen geworden. Trotz ständig neuer Schutzmechanismen gelten Sie heute als Haupteinfallstor für Schadsoftware aller Art.

Das "Browser-in-the-Box"-Konzept wirkt dieser Bedrohung effizient entgegen. Dabei wird eine virtuelle Maschine mit gehärtetem Betriebssystem und einem Webbrowser kombiniert. Der Webbrowser ist - transparent für den Nutzer - in der virtuellen Maschine isoliert. Schadsoftware kann daher nicht ohne weiteres in das Hauptbetriebssystem eindringen. Eine Infizierung des Browsers wird bei jedem Browserstart durch Rückkehr auf einen zertifizierten Ausgangszustand
