SiliconBlue-FPGA in GPS-Armbanduhr von Citizen Watch

SiliconBlue hat mit einem seiner CustomMobileDevice-FPGAs bei dem führenden japanischen Uhrenhersteller Citizen Watch einen sehr beachtlichen Design-Win erzielt. Der Baustein iCE65L08 wird in der so genannten Eco-Drive Satellite Watch von Citizen eingesetzt. Dabei handelt es sich um die weltweit erste solargespeiste Armbanduhr, die mit GPS-Synchronisierung arbeitet. Die Wahl von Citizen fiel auf die Technologie von SiliconBlue, da das Low-Power FPGA mit wafer-level chip-scale package mit einem Foot-Print von 4x5 mm und einer Kapazität von 8000 Logik-Zellen die Anforderungen von Eco-Drive am besten erfüllt. Die Uhr synchronisiert sich mit einem der 24 Satelliten des weltweiten GPS-Systems, um Uhrzeit und Datum mit atlifbmg Fkbdtnxbbmr hrpghusakn.
