Siemens Energy, Inc., along with its consortium partner, Kvaerner North American Construction, Inc. (a subsidiary of Kvaerner ASA), achieved substantial completion of the 695 megawatt (net) supercritical pulverized coal-fired power plant located in Maidsville, West Virginia. The plant was turned over to Longview Power, LLC, which is a subsidiary of the American company, GenPower Holdings (Delaware), L.P. The Longview Plant will make a major contribution to environmentally compatible and economical power generation in the region. It is also one of the most efficient and cleanest coal-fired plants in the U.S.
