New Components for Controlling and Monitoring Plants via Remote Access

New modules and UMTS routers extend the range of solutions offered by the Siemens Division Industry Automation in the field of remote access. The two new modules TIM 3V-IE DNP3 and TIM 4R-IE DNP3 enable controllers of the Simatic S7-300 and S7-400 series to be controlled and monitored over different communication networks, such as the mobile network. The modules support the open DNP3 protocol, for communication with the control center. Extensive diagnostics functions are available to users, including logging the sent and received message frames.
