samba eXPerience 2008 - call for papers
Goettingen, Germany at the seventh international Samba conference, the "samba eXPerience 2008".
The sambaXP is the leading event with focus on the most important free alternative to proprietary SMB/CIFS servers.
The call for papers and early bird registration are open until January 28th 2008. Please find all necessary information at the conference homepage: http://sambaXP.org.
Team Members and speakers from Microsoft will talk and discuss about the current license issues. Other topics are Samba 3.2 with GPLv3, authentication with directory services and group policy objects, clustering with CTDB, global file systems, desktop Linux CIFS client, Samba 4 development stage and legal issues.
Before the conference there will be a tutorial with Guenther Deschner (Red
Hat) about recent developments in Active Directory integration, Winbind and group policy objects for Linux. Before the tutorial there will be a two day advanced workshop in German and English for those who want to upgrade their Samba knowledge.
Chairman of the seventh sambaXP is John Terpstra, early Samba team member and well known author regarding Samba and related fields. The keynote will be held by Dirk Hohndel from Intel.
