New product innovation at the Biotechnica

The nanodissection system by Rowiak

Hannover, (PresseBox) - At this year’s Biotechnica in Hannover Rowiak will present the CellSurgeon - its newly developed nanodissection system. With this product innovation the young technology company from Hannover has entered the dimensions of cell surgery.

Based on femtosecond laser technology, the system is especially suited for gentle and contact-free manipulation of cells and subcellular structures. Applications include, for example, transfection of cells, deactivation of cell organelles or investigation of cell dynamics. Tightly focused laser pulses enable nanometer precision and high reproducibility. Selection of cells, their organelles and structures is not a random process and can be done with high accuracy. The technology allows targeted manipulation of cell parts without damaging others.

A major advantage of the CellSurgeon is its adaptability to different microscopes and imaging procedures. Thus providing high flexibility, since the device can be used in combination with already existing equipment. Software for analysis, image processing and automated procedures is included.

The Rowiak nanodissection system provides the potential to solve different research tasks in cell and molecular biology as well as in medicine or pharmacy. At the Biotechnica Rowiak will be present as co-exhibitor at the stand of LAT (Labor und Analysen-Technik GmbH). Visitors are invited to stop in hall 9 by stand number A14 for detailed information about the CellSurgeon and further Rowiak products.
