ROHM hat die Entwicklung kompakter, hocheffizienter Stromversorgungen für DDR-Speicher, Mikrocontroller und andere Bauelemente in Kfz-Anwendungen angekündigt. Die Serie BD905xx sorgt dank der Integration einer Phasenkompensations-Schaltung und eines Feedback-Widerstands für eine deutliche Verringerung des Bauteileaufwands gegenüber konventionellen Stromversorgungs-ICs. Dies macht das Design einfacher und trägt außerdem zur Miniaturisierung der Endprodukte bei.

Die in den letzten Jahren gewachsene Popularität von Fahrzeugen mit Elektro- und Hybridantrieb hat zum Entstehen ausgefeilterer elektronischer Systeme geführt und die Nachfrage nach Mikrocontrollern und Speichern gesteigert.
