Für die UMTS-Netzplanung und den Aufbau von Mobilfunknetzen der dritten Generation hat Rohde & Schwarz das Compact Messsystem “UMTS PN-Scanner” entwickelt. Bestehend aus Messtechnik und -Software wird das System für Testfahrten an den PC oder an den Laptop angeschlossen. Der Radio Network Analyzer R&S TSMU erlaubt durch seine kompakte Größe mehr Mobilität als bisher möglich war. Zusammen mit der Mess-Software R&S ROMES und einem GPS-Navigationssystem können so UMTS-Basisstationen auf Sendeleistung und Basisstationsdichte hin getestet werden. Über eine FireWire-Schnittstelle nach IEEE 1394 Standard wird das System an den PC oder an ein Notebook angeschlossen. Der Scanner erfasst
