Robatech at Bondexpo 2010 in Stuttgart

(PresseBox) (Muri, )
At the Bondexpo in Stuttgart / Germany which takes place from 13 to 16 September 2010, the Swiss family enterprise Robatech GmbH demonstrates interesting novelties. The central items are the new Hotmelt application unit "Concept-Greenline(TM) ", which reduces the energy consumption thanks to the additional insulation as well as the new hand applicator ErgoStar(TM) .

Hotmelt unit Concept-Greenline(TM)

From the applicator head over the heated hoses right to the hotmelter all application components have been carefully investigated for their energy consumption and heat losses. In this way it has been found out where to attack in order to achieve perceivable energy savings.

The latest measures are the special insulation and the protection of the manifold. All these optimizations enables to save 17,4 percent energy consumption compared to the hotmelt applicator systems offered so far. A further plus of the insulation of the applicator head and the protection of the manifold is the improved protection of the operating personnel. The danger of personal injury (burns) during operation of the appliances is reduced to the minimum. Robatech sets a clear example with its Greenline(TM) concept: Optimizations as well as new and further developments in the sense of more ecology, environment friendliness and sustainability are initiated and realized step by step.

The new hand applicator ErgoStar(TM)

The new hand applicator ErgoStar(TM) combines ergonomic design with highest flexibility in the application. The easy operating electropneumatic trigger in combination with the ergonomic design of the hand applicator and the possibility of adjusting the handle will ensure that the operator can work without tiring. Robatech's patent application is pending for both the design and the convenient socalled "cooltouch" handle. This handle prevents also injuries from burns since the plastic from which it is made has outstandingly good insulation properties. Safety and protection of the operating personnel are thus guaranteed.

The handle can be adjusted individually by means of a screw, i.e. the workstation is optimally set up within a few seconds to suit the requirements of the operator and the job on hand.

Coating heads FKV

The slotdie coating heads are for the application of thermoplastic or reactive hotmelts. The latest FKVseries is quickly becoming the benchmark in premetered coating technology today. The application methods include fullsurface, closedfilm or permeable (breathable) coatings. The FKV heads are ideally suited for the continuous coating and laminating of different materials such as e.g. paper, plastic sheet/film, metal foil, foamed materials, textiles, fabrics, etc. It can be used in laminating and profile wrapping equipment in the woodworking industry as well as in coating and laminating systems for textiles, hygiene products, fabrics and cellular materials, etc. Substrates can be coated up to a width of 2600 mm.

MOD Technologie

The PUR units are melting and pumping reactive one component polyurethane (PURhotmelts). The newest Generation is equipped with the "Melting On Demand" Technology with a cooled melting grill. This provides the most gentle way of processing PUR hotmelts. The remaining PUR-Block is protected from the strains of heating and always "fresh", thermally undamaged hotmelt is processed. It is gentle and economical. By «melting on demand» two melting stages keep actual melt capacity in sink with the quantity of adhesive required. When adhesive is needed, the melting grid starts melting, a piston presses the block of adhesive against it and the heated adhesive flows to the lower buffer tank. The melting system switches off again as soon as the buffer tank holds sufficient quantity. This process is controlled by predefined fill levels.
