Vereinfachte Wireless-Kommunikation

Die PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation (PNO), Fieldbus Foundation (FF) und die HART Communication Foundation (HCF) arbeiten derzeit intensiv an der Entwicklung einer Architektur für ein WirelessHART-Gateway. Hintergrund ist, dass die Prozessindustrie zwar die Vorteile der Wireless-Kommunikation schätzt, sie jedoch noch zu wenig nutzt. WirelessHART nutzt ein Mesh-Network, das heißt, jedes Gerät kann Signale generieren oder empfangen (Sensoren/Aktoren) und diese an umliegende Geräte weiter reichen (Repeater-Funktion). Größtes Hindernis bei der Implementierung von Wireless-Systemen ist nach Einschätzung der Anwender die aufwändige Integration von WirelessHART-Mesh-Netzwerken in die bestehende Automatisierungswelt.
