trac-x Trading Results March and April 2010

The German tracx Transport Capacity Exchange GmbH has reported positive trading results for March and April 2010. In April bundled dayahead capacity at the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl was placed and traded on the platform for the first time.

March

On the European internet platform tracx transport capacity trading totalled 1,057.34 GWh/h per day in March (March 2009: 12,485.49 GWh/h per day).

In the dayahead section of tracx, 73 dayahead auctions with a total of 4.3 GWh/h per day (March 2009: 36.59 GWh/h per day) ended successfully in March. At the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl (entry) the average price for traded dayahead capacities amounted to € 6.00 per MWh/h per day. At Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 5.00 per MWh/h per day. Dayahead capacities at Waidhaus (entry) were traded for an average price of € 4.80 per MWh/h.

In the longterm section of the platform a total of 1,053.04 GWh/h per day (March 2009: 12,448.9 GWh/h per day) was traded in March. Altogether, nine of the longterm entries offered on tracx were successfully purchased. March's longterm capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from one month up to five years.

April

On the European internet platform tracx transport capacity trading totalled 81.99 GWh/h per day in April (April 2009: 359.27 GWh/h per day).

In the dayahead section of tracx, 27 dayahead auctions with a total of 1.7 GWh/h per day (April 2009: 13.58 GWh/h per day) ended successfully in April. Bundled dayahead capacities at the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Waidhaus were traded for an average price of € 5.00 per MWh/h per day. At Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 3.51 per MWh/h per day.

In the longterm section of the platform a total of 80.29 GWh/h per day (April 2009: 345.69 GWh/h per day) was traded in April. Altogether, five of the longterm entries offered on tracx were successfully purchased. April's longterm capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from one month up to five months.

Since the platform's trading start in March 2005, the overall trading volume on tracx has reached a total of 59,182.74 GWh/h per day. This includes 236.4 GWh/h per day from dayahead trading.

Currently, 67 companies from all over Europe are authorised to trade capacity rights on www.trac-x.de. During the past two months, one new company was admitted to trade on tracx.
