Successful yearly capacity auctions at PRISMA

(PresseBox) ( Leipzig, )
On PRISMA - the joint capacity platform of European Transmission System Operators - the auctions for yearly transport capacity have ended successfully. In the latest auctions at PRISMA, capacities of the coming 15 years were auctioned for cross-border as well as in-country interconnection points. All but seven of the available 1,224 auctions ended after the first bidding round at the regulated tariff. For the seven remaining auctions at the network points Winterswijk (exit capacity of GTS to the grid of OGE), Zevenaar (exit capacity of GTS to the grid of OGE), Pirineos (bundled capacity between TIGF and Enagas) and North South Link (bundled capacity of GRTgaz) - where more capacity was requested by shippers than available - further auction windows were opened and are continuing until the demand equals or is lower than the available capacity.

The remaining capacity that was not sold at the yearly auctions will be offered to the market as quarterly capacity in accordance with the requirements of the NC CAM - the future European market rules for allocation of transport capacity. The next auctions for quarterly capacity will take place at PRISMA in June 2014.

The next yearly capacity auctions will take place at PRISMA in March 2015 in accordance with the auction calendar described in the NC CAM.

Currently, 356 companies with 1,086 users are registered at PRISMA and can therefore participate in capacity trading on the platform.
