Der neue PXI 5A Solid State Multiplexer 40-652 wurde ursprünglich für einen großen Dienstleister im Bereich der Militärtechnik entwickelt, um hohe Ströme schalten zu können. Die Serie der 40-652 Multiplexer ist in unterschiedlichen Konfigurationen erhältlich und für heißes und kaltes Schalten von Spannungen bis zu ±100V bei 5A geeignet. Der Einsatz von Halbleiterrelais erlaubt heißes Schalten auch von Gleichspannungen ohne Einfluss auf die Lebensdauer. Im Vergleich dazu sind elektromechanische Relais nur
