Schluss mit dem lästigen Drehen beim Betrachten und Download digitaler Bilder macht jetzt auch der kleine SMT-Kippsensor SFH 7710 von OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. Er erkennt zuverlässig, ob z.B. ein Foto im Hoch- oder im Querformat aufgenommen wird und leitet die Information an eine entsprechende Software weiter. Die bringt den Displayinhalt automatisch in die richtige Betrachtungsposition.

Der nur 1,8 mm hohe SFH 7710 misst 4,4 x 4,4 mm und ist der erste optische Kippsensor dieser Größe in SMT-Technologie. Er steckt im Plastikgehäuse und lässt sich in Standard-Lötprozessen verarbeiten. Preiswerter als bereits verfügbare Sensoren auf MEMS-Basis (MEMS = Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) und
