Option and Skinit partner to deliver on-demand personalization of mobile devices
Partnership deepens Option's total broadband solutions offering
The agreement with Skinit fits perfectly with Option's announcement of its new ultra customizable USB modem solution the iCON® XY. The iCON XY enables mobile operators to target different market segments with different levels of customization including branding, look & feel, packaging and software with just one device while reducing the cost and complexity of their supply chains. Being able to offer their endusers the choice of decoration is an extra level of customization and personalization for the mobile operators creating new revenue generating marketing and sales opportunities for their 3G devices and services as well as realizing again efficiencies in their supply chain.
Mobile operators will be able to quickly and easily select, create and order different decoration via a specific Option website that will include thousands of designs from the Skinit catalogue including their leading custom design tool which allows customers to personalize their device with photos or designs of their own. This extra level of device tailoring, ranging from mass production with micro customization to individual customization, enables network operators to serve the aftermarket. This creates additional business to build personalized solutions for their distribution channels such as MVNO's, enterprise customers, local communities, sport clubs or for special occasions and events. Furthermore Option and Skinit will provide solutions to the network operators, retailers and other partners for setting up their own branded or cobranded Option/Skinit website.
Option is at the Mobile World Congress, the world's leading event in the mobile communications industry (Spain, Barcelona - February 15 - 18 2010). Visit us in Hall 2, Booth 2J54.
