Die Tage des nationalen 1TR6-Protokolls im ISDN sind gezählt. Spätestens ab dem 31.12.2006 gehört 1TR6 endgültig zur Geschichte und wird in Deutschland nicht mehr verfügbar sein. Besitzer von 1TR6-Telefonanlagen stehen vor dem Problem, die vorhandenen Telefonanlagen, sofern möglich, auf EDSS1 umzurüsten bzw. eine neue Telefonanlage anschaffen zu müssen. Beides ist mit erheblichen Investitionen verbunden. NovaTec Kommunikationstechnik hat die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt und ein Gerät entwickelt, dass das 1TR6-Protokoll in EDSS1 konvertiert. Der TransNova-Protokollkonverter (TPC) unterstützt sowohl ISDN-S0 als auch ISDN-S2M-Schnittstellen. Der TransNova-Protokollkonverter ist modular aufgebaut und kann den jeweils vorhandenen lokalen Gegebenheiten individuell konfiguriert und zusammengestellt werden.
