NGMN Alliance approves new work programme and appoints a new Board of Directors for 2012 - 2014

(PresseBox) (Frankfurt, Germany / London, UK, ) The Annual General Meeting of the NGMN Alliance appointed new Board Members on November 6th, 2012. The new Board Members elected for the period from 2012 to 2014 are:

At its first meeting, the Board elected Jae-Woan Byun from SK Telecom as new Chairman. The Board of Directors also agreed to focus NGMN's work-programme in the next years on projects and information exchange in four main areas: E2E Quality of Service & User Experience, Architecture Evolution & Cloud, Operational Excellence & Efficiency, and Implementation Aspects.

Mr. Byun stated: "I want to express my sincere appreciation to the former Chairman Mr. Sandro Dionisi and I'm committed to continue his excellent work. Under his leadership the NGMN Alliance has shaped the industry and the technology development towards the launch of LTE networks around the globe. I am honored to be appointed as the Chairman of the Board and I will strongly support the NGMN work-programme by contributing SK Telecom's expertise on successful deployment of LTE networks and the development of well accepted service offerings."
