Der Geschäftsbereich "Infrastructure Energy Networks" der Nexans Deutschland GmbH, Hannover, erhielt von der Energiekontor-Gruppe einen Auftrag über die Lieferung und Montage von 13,5 Kilometern Seekabel inklusive Zubehör für deren Offshore-Windpark. Er wird etwa 15 km nordöstlich der Insel Wangerooge in der Wesermündung gebaut und soll spätestens Ende nächsten Jahres in Betrieb gehen. 18 REpower-Windkraftanlagen mit jeweils 5 Megawatt Leistung kommen dort zum Einsatz. Die Kabel werden als Verbindungen der Anlagen untereinander sowie zu einer Trafoplattform dienen. Der Windpark wird dann pro Jahr etwa 350.000 Megawattstunden Strom erzeugen, etwa so viel wie 100.000 Haushalte benötigen.
