VNB modernisiert Stromnetz

In den vergangenen drei Jahren hat der Verteilnetzbetreiber (VNB) Rhein-Main-Neckar zwischen Groß-Umstadt und Semd rund zwölf Kilometer der bestehenden Stromfreileitungen durch un-terirdische Mittelspannungskabel ersetzt. Aktuell wird in Semd, Am Frauengraben, eine dieser Stromfreileitungen abgebaut. Im Vorgriff dieser Maßnahmen sind in Dieburg bestehende Mittelspannungskabel durch leistungsstärkere ersetzt worden.

Durch diese Maßnahmen wird eine höhere Übertragungsfähigkeit - bei geringeren Energieverlusten - und eine geringere Störungsanfälligkeit erreicht. Die neuen unterirdischen Kabel tragen laut Angaben des Unternehmens dazu bei, dass zukünftig mehr regenerativ erzeugter Strom transportiert werden kann.
