Der Windpark Schauenstein am östlichen Rand des Naturparks Frankenwald im Landkreis Hof nimmt Gestalt an: Seit Oktober 2013 laufen die Arbeiten an den vier Windkraftanlagen mit Nabenhöhen von jeweils 141 Metern. Die Rotoren werden einen Durchmesser von 117 Metern und eine Leistung von je 2,4 Megawatt (MW) haben. Zusammen bringen es die vier Windräder auf eine Leistung von ca. 9,6 MW. Mit der Gesamtmenge von rund 24,5 Mio. Kilowattstunden (kWh) können rund 7.000 Dreipersonenhaushalte ein Jahr lang mit Ökostrom versorgt werden.
