Jetzt bekommt der VW Passat Variant doch Konkurrenz aus dem eigenen Haus: Der nächste Skoda Superb Kombi, der 2015 auf den Markt kommt, wird so hochwertig ausgestattet und mehr Platz bieten als der Passat, dass er auch für VW-Kunden interessant werden könnte. Wie auto motor und sport aus VW-Kreisen erfuhr, wird der nächste Superb acht Zentimeter länger als der neue Passat und hat ein größeres Kofferraumvolumen, obwohl beide Autos auf dem gleichen modularen Querbaukasten aufbauen.
