Merck hat heute bekannt gegeben, dass Gerhard Schmitz (50) zum 1. November 2013 neuer Leiter Global Accounting beim Pharma-, Chemie- und Life-Science-Unternehmen wird. In seiner vorherigen Position leitete Schmitz die Accounting-Funktion bei Lanxess.

"Wir freuen uns, dass wir mit Gerhard Schmitz einen erfahrenen Manager für uns gewinnen konnten, der in den vergangenen neun Jahren eine entscheidende Rolle beim Aufbau der konzernweiten Accounting-Funktion eines globalen Unternehmens gespielt hat", so Matthias Zachert, für Finanzen zuständiges Geschäftsleitungsmitglied bei Merck. Vor seiner Karriere bei Lanxess war Schmitz Wirtschaftsprüfer und Partner bei PricewaterhouseCoopers in Deutschland.
