MHH veranstaltet Sjögren-Tag

Experten informieren über Therapiemöglichkeiten und Forschungen rund um Autoimmunerkrankung

Am Sonnabend, 9. März 2013, findet der 7. Deutsche Sjögren-Tag an der Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover (MHH) statt. Das Sjögren-Syndrom - benannt nach dem schwedischen Augenarzt Henrik Sjögren, der die Krankheit erstmals beschrieb - ist eine häufige entzündlich-rheumatische Erkrankung, von der bis zu ein Prozent der Bevölkerung betroffen ist. Die chronische Drüsenentzündung verursacht einen trockenen Mund und trockene Augen. Rund die Hälfte der Betroffenen leidet zudem unter weiteren Komplikationen wie Nervenentzündungen, Arthritis, Muskelschmerzen oder Nieren- und Lungenentzündungen. Die Patientenveranstaltung informiert Interessierte über Therapiemöglichkeiten und Neuigkeiten aus der Forschung. Die Veranstaltung ist kostenlos.
