M.A.X. Automation AG: Environmental subsidiary Vecoplan wins one of the biggest single contracts in the company's history

Soon-to-be-listed Vecoplan AG will supply leading Portuguese cement maker with complex system for processing alternative fuels/Comprehensive systems technology lies behind the company's success on the market

(PresseBox) (Düsseldorf, ) M.A.X. Automation AG has won another major contract in its core environmental technology segment. Currently being prepared for IPO, Vecoplan AG, based in Bad Marienberg, Germany, is a leading international supplier of systems and components for wood processing and waste processing. The M.A.X. subsidiary will supply one of Portugal's biggest cement manufacturers with a high-tech system for processing alternative fuels.

The contract from Portugal is worth EUR 5.2 million in sales, making it one of the biggest single contracts in Vecoplan's history. The planning and tendering process to extend the contract further is already underway. This major contract from Portugal is evidence of Vecoplan's success in boosting the importance of the cement industry as a strategic business segment.

Besides sophisticated crushing technology – with an energy-saving and cost-cutting HiTorc drive system – the equipment also includes conveying, sifting and storage components. The overall system was custom-made for the customer's specific requirements and represents an innovative integrated solution thanks to the incorporation of four technologically complex components.

This systems technology positions Vecoplan as one of the world's leading providers of allround systems for processing alternative fuels. In energy-intensive businesses such as the cement industry, the use of alternative fuels with a high calorific value, such as wood, paper, plastics or textiles, is growing in importance in view of the rising price of primary energy sources like oil and gas.

Manfred Heim, board member at M.A.X. Automation AG: "This major contract for Vecoplan illustrates the excellent international sales opportunities presented by innovative and sophisticated industrial systems in the field of environmental technology. The planned IPO of Vecoplan will enable the company to tap this market potential even better in the future."
