LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI), führender Anbieter im Bereich Multimedia für das digitale Heim, gibt bekannt, dass Samsung Electronics die zweite Generation des DVD-Recorder-Systemprozessors DiMeNsion 8602 (DMN-8602) in der Produktlinie der kombinierten VHS/DVD-Recorder einsetzen wird. Ausschlaggebend für die Auswahl des DMN-8602 war die hohe Qualität der digitalen Videoverarbeitung sowie die innovativen neuen Funktionen in einem kosteneffektiven Single-Chip-Design.

Der DMN-8602 nutzt die führende Integration des DiMeNsion 8600 (DMN-8600), der ersten Single-Chip-DVD-Recorder-Lösung der Videoindustrie. Der DMN-8602 umfasst darüber hinaus einen NTSC/PAL TV-Kodierer sowie einen USB-Controller und benötigt nur ein einziges Speichersubsystem.
