Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert den LTC3824, einen DC/DC-Current-Mode-Controller mit einem Eingangsspannungsbereich von V bis 60V, einem Tastverhältnis von maximal 100%, niedrigem Ruhestrom und einstellbarer Schaltfrequenz. Der neue Controller ist eine ideale Lösung für automobile Anwendungen, weil er einerseits auch unter Kaltstartbedingungen (4V Batteriespannung) noch die volle Ausgangsspannung liefert und andererseits induktive Spannungsspitzen bis zu 60V übersteht, ohne eine externe Klemmschaltung zu benötigen. Der LTC3824 kann für den Burst-Mode®-Betrieb konfiguriert werden; dadurch erhöht sich der Wirkungsgrad bei geringer Last, insbesondere im Standby-Modus, in dem der Ruhestrom auf 40uA absinkt. Der typische Shutdown-Strom beträgt 25uA.
