Linear Technology präsentiert den LTC3611, einen wirkungsgradstarken Synchron-Abwärtsregler, der einen kontinuierlichen Ausgangsstrom bis zu 10A bei Spannungen bis hinab zu 0,6V liefern kann. Der Chip akzeptiert Eingangsspannungen im Bereich von 4,5V bis 32V (36V absolutes Maximum) und ist dadurch eine ideale Lösung für Geräte, die durch einen Mehrzellen-Li-Ion- oder Blei-Akku oder ein Bordnetz bis 32V gespeist werden. Seine Valley-Current-Control-Architektur ermöglicht hochfrequenten Betrieb mit sehr kleinem Tastverhältnis und hervorragendem Transientenverhalten. Die über einen externen Widerstand einstellbare Schaltfrequenz kann bis zu 1 MHz betragen; das erlaubt die Verwendung kleiner, preiswerter Keramikkondensatoren und flacher Induktivitäten.
