Die Akquisition der deutschen Automobilzulieferer C. Rob. Hammerstein (CRH), Keiper und Recaro Automotive durch Johnson Controls, einem weltweit führender Anbieter automobiler Innenausstattung und Elektronik, wurde am 20. Juni 2011 abgeschlossen. Die drei Unternehmen werden nun in neu geschaffene Geschäftsbereiche integriert: "Special Seats" für komplette Automobil- und Nutzfahrzeugsitze sowie "Metals & Mechanisms" für Fahrzeugsitz-Metallkomponenten und -strukturen sowie Mechanismen. Im ersten Schritt wurden die Leiter der neuen Geschäftseinheiten benannt: Elmar Deegener (56) führt "Special Seats", Robert Houston (51) "Metals & Mechanisms". Deegener zeichnete als CEO für Keiper verantwortlich, Houston war zuvor geschäftsführender Gesellschafter von CRH.
