Klimawandel: Weltweit höhere Investitionen in erneuerbare Energien notwendig

UN-Generalsekretär Ban Ki-moon hat erneut vor den Folgen des Klimawandels gewarnt und die Notwendigkeit internationaler Maßnahmen gefordert. Eine Reduktion der globalen Treibhausgase kann durch deutlich höhere Investitionen in erneuerbare Energien erreicht werden, teilte das Internationale Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR) in Münster mit. Im Jahr 2010 wurden weltweit rd. 140 Milliarden (Mrd.) Euro in neue regenerative Anlagentechniken investiert (2009: 125 Mrd. Euro). Um den CO2-Anstieg signifikant zu bremsen, sind nach IWR-Berechnungen mindestens 500 Mrd. Euro jährlich notwendig.
