The Advanced Materials Competition (AdMaCom) is an annual 2-week accelerator program in Berlin organised by the Innovation Network for Advanced Materials (INAM). AdMaCom addresses scientific driven startups with outstanding technologies and business models in the area of Advanced Materials. This year’s program will run from 23 September until 8 October.

At the beginning of August, after an extensive one-month evaluation period, 12 startup finalists from around the world have been chosen. The startups were evaluated on several categories such as technology and market potential. The following teams will bring their innovations to Berlin in September:

ATLANT (Denmark) is developing the most accurate & versatile 3D nanoprinter in the world. BestHealth4U (Portugal) is developing and bringing to market a new generation of medical-grade adhesives. Braindrop (Netherlands) created a revolutionary, nontoxic passive fire protection agent. CELLUGY (Denmark) is addressing the growing challenge of plastic pollution by creating and manufacturing sustainable biomaterials that can replace conventional plastics. FLEEP Technologies (Italy) develops and produces microchips that are flexible, transparent and recyclable. Hydra Storage Solutions (Netherlands) is storing variable renewable energy using innovative hydrogen technology. IDUN Technologies (Switzerland) is developing dry electrodes for the next generation of wearables. MOTORSKINS (Germany) creating a bio-inspired exosuit that enhances the autonomy of people with motor disabilities. NanoPattern Technologies, Inc. (USA) is manufacturing a photopatternable ink that enables displays to be 70 % more energy efficient and offers a 50 % better color experience. Phononic Vibes srl (Italy) is producing the first vibration and noise isolation products (so-called phononic panels) based on the physics of phononic crystals. Poligy GmbH (Germany) is using their new type of polymer called the bipolymer to convert waste heat within the range of 30°C - 00°C into electricity. RadiSurf ApS (Denmark) providing specialized nanocoatings for adhesion between dissimilar materials.

During AdMaCom, the startups will be put through intense pitch trainings, workshops and mentoring sessions. Their progress will be put to the test and judged by an expert jury at the Demo Day. The startups will be competing for cash prizes totalling 15,000€ as well as other awards provided by INAM Members Sony and InnoEU.

This year, the exciting finale will be held on 8 October 2019 at the Sony Office in Berlin (Sony Center) starting at 16:00. Registration is available on the Eventbrite website or by visiting INAM’s website (www.inam.berlin).
