EclipseSource Inc, ein führender Anbieter von Eclipse Produkten und Dienstleistungen gab heute die TÜV-Zertifizierung seiner Eclipse Plugin Bibliothek SecureSource bekannt. SecureSource bietet bisher ungekannten Schutz und Sicherheit für Organisationen, die Eclipse Open Source Komponenten als Entwicklungswerkzeug oder OSGi Komponenten als Ablaufumgebung nutzen.

Die TÜV Zertifizierung basiert auf dem ISO/IEC 25051:2006 Standard für Software Engineering und Software Produkt Evaluierung. Der von EclipseSource angewandte Prozess stellt die Herkunft der Open Source Software-Komponenten sicher, untersucht sie auf Sicherheitsprobleme, erfasst die Lizenzbedingungen und bietet einen sicheren Übertragungsweg für die digital signierten Komponenten zum Kunden.
