Ab sofort kann der neue VW Passat TSI EcoFuel bestellt werden. Volkswagen hat das Mittelklassefahrzeug gänzlich überarbeitet - zum Einsatz kommt jetzt ein mittels Turbo und Kompressor doppelt aufgeladener Erdgasmotor. Der neue Passat ist damit das zweite Serienmodell aus Wolfsburg, das neben dem VW Touran ab Markteinführung mit Erdgasturbo verfügbar ist. Die Verbrauchs- und Abgaswerte konnten leicht gesenkt werden: Das Fahrzeug der EURO-5-Norm emittiert im Erdgasbetrieb 117 Gramm CO2 pro Kilometer (bislang 119 g/km). Auf 100 Kilometer benötigt die Limousine mit 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe 4,3 Kilogramm Erdgas (bislang 4,4 kg) und fährt damit wirtschaftlicher als der VW Passat mit konventionellem Diesel- oder Hxktvuduhjory.
