Zwei Master - Ein serielles Endgerät

Eine Besonderheit der RS-232 Verkabelung ist die Punkt-zu-Punkt Verbindung, die nur einen Master und einen Slave zulässt. Besteht aber nun die Anforderung, ein serielles Endgerät mit zwei Mastern zu verbinden, wird mehr „Intelligenz“ benötigt. Für diesen Fall bietet ICPDAS den sogenannten „Serial Port Moderator“ an. Mit dieser tSH-700 Serie können zwei Master über die serielle Schnittstelle (RS-232 oder RS-485) mit ein und demselben seriellen Endgerät sprechen. Der Serial Port Moderator übernimmt dabei die Kommunikations­reihenfolge, bei der er auf seinen internen Pufferspeicher von 512KB zurückgreift, um Übertragungskollisionen zu vermeiden. Zusätzlich sorgt er für die Übersetzung der Protokolle von ModbusRTU auf ASCII
