Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) und ATTO Technology kündigen heute die Kompatibilität ihrer Produkte, basierend auf der 6Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Schnittstelle, an. Mit der 6Gb/s SAS Schnittstelle erhöht sich die Geschwindigkeit des Datendurchsatzes um bis zu 100 Prozent im Vergleich zu Vorgängermodellen mit 3Gb/s.

Die ATTO 6Gb/s ExpressSAS Host Bus Adapter sind in fünf Modellen, mit jeweils 8- oder 16-Ports, welche 600 MB/s Datentransfergeschwindigkeit pro Port bieten, erhältlich. Das erlaubt die Unterstützung von maximal 512 Geräten. ATTO sowie Hitachi haben hier insbesondere an Anwendungen gedacht, die schnelle Antwortzeiten erfordern.
