Im Rahmen des Facelifts des Tesla Modells 3 ab Spätherbst 2020, änderte Tesla seine Radsensoren. Anstelle der bisher in Europa verbreiteten 433 MHz RDKS-Sensoren wechselte Tesla zu RDKS-Sensoren, die via Bluetooth 2.4 GHz mit der Steuerelektronik des Fahrzeugs kommunizieren. Alle Tesla 3 und Y Modelle ab dem Baujahr November 2020 haben diese RDKS-Sensoren mit Bluetooth-Technologie verbaut.

Tesla verwendet prinzipiell ein aktives Reifendruckkontrollsystem. Bei einem aktiven RDKS werden Sensoren verbaut, welche permanent den Druck und die Temperatur messen. Alle Daten werden per Bluetooth an die zentrale Steuereinheit geschickt. Alle Daten werden dauerhaft im Cockpit angezeigt.
