Die Numerische Strömungssimulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD) gewinnt immer mehr Bedeutung bei Entwurf und Optimierung von Anlagen, Maschinen, Apparaten und Bauteilen. Ein wesentlicher Grund ist die stark vereinfachte Bedienung der CFD-Programme. Um jedoch qualitativ hochwertige und damit belastbare Ergebnisse zu erzielen, muss der/die Anwender/in die kritischen Stellen im Berechnungsprozess kennen. Der Unterschied zwischen einem guten Ergebnis und einem trügerischen bunten Bild ist oftmals nur einen einzigen Mausklick voneinander entfernt.
