Vor fast genau 60 Jahren - am 21. Mai 1951 - wurde das Gesetz zur Montanmitbestimmung verkündet, am 7. Juni trat es in Kraft. Damit gelang in Deutschland ein wichtiger Schritt zur Demokratisierung der Wirtschaft. Nicht zuletzt die erfolgreiche Bewältigung der letzten Wirtschaftskrise hat deutlich gemacht, dass die Mitbestimmung der Arbeitnehmer zur Stärke der deutschen Wirtschaft und zum gesellschaftlichen Frieden beiträgt. Die Hans-Böckler-Stiftung würdigt heute in Kooperation mit der IG Metall und der Industriegewerkschaft Bergbau, Chemie, Energie 60 Jahre Montanmitbestimmung mit einer Veranstaltung in Dortmund.
